Morning sickness is a condition where a woman in the early months of pregnancy experience nausea or even actual vomiting. The feeling of nausea or actual vomiting can occur during the morning, mid day or evening and can also last all day long. This terrible characteristic of pregnancy usually only last for the first 3 months of a womans pregnancy.
Morning sickness is said to be the dramatic change in hormones that occurs during pregnancy. It is also said to be the cause of an imbalance in blood sugar levels.
Morning sickness is 100% normal during pregnancy. However some women will be lucky enough not to suffer from it at all. In most cases it causes no harm to you or your baby but for others it can develop into a condition known as hyperemesis gravidarum. This is more serious and is diagnosed when the vomiting is prolonged and severe. It can cause dehydration, weight loss and nutritional deficiencies.
